Page modified Sunday, 31 May 2020

Leading off in this video is the Moment of Reflection sermonette, delivered by the Reverend Christy Marshall of the Broadway United Methodist Church of Indianapolis; it is a brief message based on Jesus Christ's story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15). Following this is the SSB video featuring Sandi Patty's rendition of the National Anthem with video of Americans of various kinds saluting the flag. Next is the Fox 59 sign-off itself, featuring several aerial views of the Indianapolis skyline as well as scenes of the city's buildings and inhabitants. The Fox Network's CGI-animated logo and fanfare music appears at the beginning and end of the sign-off. The clip concludes with thirty seconds of color bars.

WXIN Fox 59 began operations on 1 February 1984 as independent WPDS-TV. To see a video of Channel 59's inaugural sign-on, visit this page. The calls were changed to WXIN in 1985 when new owners took over the station. The following year WXIN joined the new Fox Television Network as a charter affiliate. Fox 59's current owners is Nexstar Media Group, which acquired WXIN's previous licensee, Chicago-based Tribune Broadcasting, in September 2019
