Fort Wayne's ABC-TV Netwok affiliate, "21 Alive", calls it a night with this video featuring scenes of city residents engaged in various summertime activities as well as some views of Fort Wayne's skyline. Afterward comes an abbreviated recording of Ray Charles' rendition of "America The Beautiful", visually accompanied by photo images of Americana. Several seconds of the 21 Alive color bars rounds out the video. National conservative radio host Mark Levin plays the full verson of Ray's ATB at the end of his Friday show every week as a tribute to America and for what it stands for.
Presumably, this recording was made prior to September 1989, the time at which Pulitzer Broadcasting, the owner mentioned in the clip, sold WPTA-TV to the Granite Broadcasting Corporation. Channel 21 is currently O&Oed by Quincy Media and now brands itself as ABC 21 (the 21 Alive branding was retired in 2016). WPTA also carries NBC network programs on its digital subchannel 21.2 and MyNetwork TV shows on 21.3.
