In February of 2020 ecstatically posted a 1978 signoff from the Piedmont Triad's longtime CBS affiliate (linked below). More recently another late-70s WFMY-TV sign-off has surfaced, a variation in which the Webmaster also has great memory of. In this version when the announcement of the Television Code Seal is made, the WFMY-TV "Big Stylized 2" station ID image is displayed: when the sign-off is rendered the TV Code Seal (1965 model) appears. One wonders why this occurred and why it was not corrected. Channel 2 first used this sign-off in mid- or late 1978 and continued with it until about mid-1980, when WFMY-TV launched a new transnitter and tower at Level Cross in Randolph County, necessitating new pre-recorded sign-on/off videos.

Before the sign-off sequence there's a WFMY-TV Big 2 station ID graphic, which is followed by the Text for the Evening, from Psalm 35 (KJV). The SSB film is from the United States Marine Corps, featuring imagery of the USMC in action from the time of the American Revolution up to World War II. Near the end of the film appears the phrase "uncommon valor was a common virtue", which is a reference to the men of the Marines and the U.S. Navy that fought in the battle of Iwo Jima which ran from 19 February to 26 March 1945. Behind the phrase the Iwo Jima Memorial in Washington, D.C. can be barely seen.
