This particular WECT sign-off was recorded one night around 1 AM during a vacation at Topsail Island, NC, 30-plus miles northeast of Wilmington, in early June 1994. It commences with a minute of WECT's Community Calendar, joined in progress. It is followed by a spot featuring NBC Nightly News' Tom Brokaw (since retired) announcing a local Town Hall Forum on the subject of health care reform sponsored by WECT on Tuesday, 14 June 1994. The sign-off announcement follows, using audio from the 1989 WECT sign-off (linked below) and video of the Cape Fear River at sunset. The SSB film is one featuring the U.S. Navy's Blue Eagles Flight Demonstration Squadron, which is also used in the 1998 WECT sign-off linked below.
