The TV station of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) calls it a night. The clip commences with the end funding credits of a PBS network program of some kind. Immediately following is the station sign-off, simply a "good night" slide (with no station ID logo), announcement and some nice music. The SSB film is one of numerous produced by the United States Marine Corps
The LAUSD put KLCS Channel 58 on the air in November 1973, ten years after they first filed an application for a TV license with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). But the LAUSD's TV activities originated in 1957, the year they began producing instructional programming which was aired on various stations in the area. Presently, KLCS produces more than 700 hours of educational, informational, sports and entertainment programs each year. Unlike most public TV stations today, KCLS holds no annual pledge drives. The station had telecast in standard definition (480i) up until April 2016 when its frequency was changed to UHF Channel 28. From that point KLCS's main channel displays 720i definition.
