Sign-Off and SSB from circa 1992
Page modified Tuesday, 16 June 2020
This sign-off of Nevada's first and oldest TV station is of the "drive-by" variety, a 15-second announcement saying, in essence, "we're outta here, good night!". The SSB video which follows is more interesting, for it's a celebration of the state of Nevada, past and present. The first half of the SSB features images of Nevada's history in a manner similar to the "Flag Evolution" SSB used in this 1989 WRAL-TV (Raleigh NC) sign-off. The second half is a video montage of Nevada's most noted places of interest as they appeared in the early 1990s. Is this legendary country music pianist Floyd Cramer playing the SSB in this clip? It certainly is! It's definitely performed in Cramer's style. KLAS-TV 8 is the Las Vegas market's CBS-TV network affiliate
