Final Sign-off and sign-on recorded
27 and 28 of August 2011
Page modified Saturday, 13 June 2020
Sunday morning, 28th August 2001 at 5:59 am local time, the ABC-TV network affiliate for southern Oregon joined the majority of U.S. TV stations in going to 24-hour, 7-days-a-week operation. The previous evening, KDRV Newswatch 12 signed off for the final time at 11:29 PM local time, right after their 11:00 newscast. From then until sign-on, the station aired a live camera view of Klamath Falls, which is served by KDRV's satellite station KDKF, digital channel 29. Both the sign-off and sign-on has no voice-over announcement and uses the same background music. The CGI animated graphics are slightly different, the sign-off has "Good Evening" with a full moon in the background, the sign-on has "Good Morning" with the sun rising over a mountain.
TV-signoffs.com sends a big "Thank You" to Mike Summers of Medford, OR for these clips.
