Sign-off of the station known as Fox Rochester, back in the day before it became known as such. From its intial sign-on in January 1980 up to becoming a charter affiliate of the Fox Network in October 1986, WUHF-TV was a typical independent, running lots of cartoons, old sitcoms, dramas, movies and religious programs. The video kicks off with thefinal seconds of a program that was syndicated by the Lexington Broadcast Service Company (LBS). Following an animated WUHF 31 station ID comes the sign-off announcement, running a mere seventeen seconds, mentioning only the studio and transmitter locations. The MOOG SSB film comes right after this, with the first few seconds cut off (kettle drum roll). The final seconds of the SSB film is also cut when the color bars appear at the end of the video.
