WTVR-TV Channel 6, Richmond, Virginia
Final Analog Sign-Off - Friday, 12 June 2009

Page modified Saturday, 1 August 2020

The South's First Television Station concludes sixty-one years of analog transmission with a retrospective video featuring images of WTVR's history, past and present. Among these images are two versions of WTVR's famous "Pioneer" station ID logo, featuring a silhouette of a TV camera and a covered wagon train. The parade of WTVR historical imagery continues into the playing of the National Anthem, which ends with the famous film of the U.S. Marines raising the 48-star flag over Iwo Jima during the Second World War.
