This brief piece was contributed by Ava Nieves of INNewsCenter.net. WTHR concludes its 52-year analog telecasting career with this brief sign-off, consisting only of severa historic images of the station going back when it was known as WLWI-TV and owned by the Crosely Broadcasting Corporation of Cincinnati OH, then owners of WLWT 6 and several other VHF stations. Channel 13 was Indianapolis' ABC affiliate from its initial sign-on in 1957 to 1979, when it swapped network affiliations with rival WRTV 6 to become an NBC network station, which it remains today.
