The member statiion of the Public Broadcasting Servive (PBS) that serves northwestern Florida and southern Alabama commences another broadcast day in this video supplied by Matt Sittel of Belleview, Nebraska. WSRE-TV used this very same graphics and video for its nightly sign-off during this time period.

And speaking of sign-offs, WSRE's analog farewell piece of 17 February 2009 was among the better ones, as it offered some explanation of TV station sign-offs and sign-ons in general as well as a clip taken from the sign-on above. That clip can be viewed here.

WSRE-TV was launched by Pensacola Junior College (now Pensacola State) in September 1967 as an affiliate of the National Educational Television (NET) network, the forerunner of PBS. WSRE once operated a local educational-access channel with the calls WLNE (Where Learning Never Enda), seen only on Cox Cable in Pensacola. WLNE was discontinued in September 2008.
