Apologies in advance for the fuzziness in the recording, for it was a long-distance recording made at the Webmaster's home in Walkertown, North Carolina (near Winston-Salem), 150-plus miles from Spartanburg. But at least it was possible to get it in color! The clip starts with the final few seconds of Eyewitness 7 News (since changed to News Channel 7), then to the sign-off, which features a tour of the WSPA-TV studios and facilities. Then comes the SSB film, the U.S. Air Force "Split Screen" version displaying the U.S. flag in the center. The video concludes with the WSPA-TV "We're The Team" logo graphic. Spartanburg's Channel 7 commenced telecasting in April 1956 as the video sibling of WSPA Radio AM 950 (currently WOLI-AM 910) The station has been affiliated with the CBS Television Network from its beginning. Media General now owns WSPA-TV, a result of a 2000 merger with Spartan Communications (formerly the Spartan Radiocasting Company mentioned in the sign-off). BONUS
