WLWT Channel 5, Cincinnati, Ohio
Final Analog Sign-off - Friday, 12 June 2009

Page modified Thursday, 2 July 2020

The final moments of Cincinnati's first television station's analog transmission, seen here in this "over-the-air" recording (hence the wavy lines). The classic RCA "Indian Head" B&W test pattern serves as the backdrop for a collection of vintage WLWT station ID graphics and clips from WLWT and NBC programming over the past 60-plus years. The announcer for WLWT's final sign-off is Bill Myers, who bids the viewers "goodnight from Mount Auburn", whisc is a historic neighborhood in Cincy where WLWT's studios are currently located.
