Page modified Thursday, 2 July 2020
A compilation of segments of Northwestern Ohio's NBC-TV station's final moments on UHF Channel 35 during its morning newscast. It's Fred Yobbe, WILO-TV's chief engineer, who has the honor of shutting down the Channel 35 transmitter, pushing 40 years of age, for the final time as WLIO-TV begins digital telecasting exclusively on VHF Channel 8. Before that takes place, Mr. Vobbe explains some things about analog and digital TV and gives the viewers a glimpse inside the huge analog transmitter. Also featured here is Bruce Opperman, NBC Lima's General Manager and President of Lima Communications, who explains to the viewers the numerous advantages of digital TV on the new Channel 8.
This video was put together by Fred Vobbe for his YouTube channel that features various videos related to WLIO-TV and Lima, Ohio.
