| Mobile/Pensacola's CBS affiliate station terminated its analog transmissions with this retrospective sign-off. The clip begins with an itntroduction by the late Kenneth R. Giddens, the Mobile architect and movie theatre owner that put WKRG-TV, named for himself, on the air on 29 August 1955. I'm guessing this came from the station's inaugural telecast. Mr. Giddens introduces a film montage of 1950s and 1960s-era station technicians at work behind the scenes. The sign-off announcement follows this, consisting of WKRG-TV station ID graphics of the past and present. The clip concludes with the SSB video of the U.S. Navy's BLUE ANGELS Flight Demonstration Squadron accompanied by the U.S. Navy Band. |
