Sign-Off from Summer 1979 Re-creation

Page modified Saturday, 29 August 2020

This is an attempt by the Webmaster at re-creating the late 1970s-era sign-off of the Piedmont Triad's current Fox Network station, which originally was an affiliate of the ABC-TV network for its first thirty-two years (1963-1995). The clip commences with a re-creation of the six-second TV-8/Television Code Seal bumper which aired right before WGHP-TV's sermonette, Words To Live By, followed by the sign-off re-creation. The audio for both, recorded during the summer of 1979, is authentic, though the sign-off is missing the first two or three seconds of it. The NAB Seal of Good Practice and the WGHP-TV 8 logo were taken from pre-exsisting sources. Since the Webmaster does not remember what exact colors and type fonts were used in the original WGHP-TV slides, the ones presented here most likely are not accurate.
