Sign-off of Wilmington, North Carolina's first TV station and NBC network affiliate, captured by the Webmaster at his home near Winston-Salem, NC, 220-plus miles from Wilmington. The brief sign-off announcement is delivered by the late long-time WECT newsanchor Ken Murphy. This is followed by a video montage of Wilmingtonians at work and play, set to James Brown' recording of "Living In America". After this, we get a a couple of seconds of the classic WECT black-and-white test pattern, followed by the then-current station ID graphic. RELATED
