WBKO-TV is the ABC network station for south central Kentucky, and its sign-off here certainly reflects that fact. It starts off with a slideshow of still images accompanied by an orchestra rendition of Stephen Foster's "My Old Kentucky Home", which is the state's official song. Among the images featured are Mississippi River steamboats, Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace Memorial Building, and Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. The sign-off announcement follows the slideshow presentation, then a few seconds of color bars.

Channel 13 was Bowling Green's first TV station when it began operations in June 1962 as WLTV, an independent station. After five years as such, Channel 13 took on its ABC network affiliation in March 1967. WLTV was knocked off the air for several months in late 1969 due to an dynamite explosion that destroyed its transmitter and damaged its tower. The suspect was a local bootlegger that apparently did not like the exposure that his operation was getting from Channel 13's news coverage. The call letters were changed to WBKO in 1971 as a result of a change in ownership. The station is currently owned by Gray Television, and it is Bowling Green's place not only for ABC programs, but those of the Fox network (on digital 13.2) and The CW (on 13.3).
