|A typical sign-off used by the ABC
Television Network's New York key station, consisting of
static network and station logo graphics and a live
voice-over announcement, delivered here by Ted Lawrence.
In the years prior to when this clip was recorded, there
was mention of the Television Code of the National
Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the display of the
Code Seal of Good Practice (hear the audio clips posted
below). The "Moog SSB" film that follows is
named such because the National Anthem is played on a
Moog synthesizer, an elaborate electronic musical
instrument developed by Robert A. Moog in the late 1960s.
The Moog SSB film was also used by WABC-TV's West Coast
sibling KABC-TV in Los
Angeles for many years. By the following year,
1983, WABC-TV had dropped the Moog SSB film in favor of
