A 5 AM official start of the broadcast day clip from KTLA's final months as an affiliate of The WB Nerwork (WB would become The CW later in 2006). It is preceded by a promo for a KTLA news special, When Disaster Strikes, and is followed by a promo for an upcoming telecaast of a L.A. Clippers NBA game versus the Sacramento Kings.

KTLA was the first commercial TV station west of the Mississippi River to take to the air, commencing in January 1947. Channel 5 is L.A.'s home of The CW network. Since 1985 it has been owned by Chicago-based Tribune Broadcasting. As of this update (January 2018), Tribune Media is to be acquired by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, pending final approval by the FCC and the U.S. Department of Justice's Anti-trust Division.
