The SPS in the station's call letters stand for Spokane Public Schools, which has owned and operated Channel 7 since its initial sign-on in April 1967. This sign-off clip feaures numerous shots of snow and ice-covered trees, pesumably shot on or near Mount Spokane. This PBS affiliate station's signal is also seen by viewers in British Columbia and Alberta in Canada, as well as the signals of at least four other Spokane TV stations. KSPS-TV also utilizes 30-plus translators to serve areas of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
