Both the sign-off and sign-on uses the same video montage, which features footage of Mt. Shasta, Shasta Dam, Lower Falls of the McCloud River, Mossbrae Falls (in Dunsmuir), Shasta Bally Mountain (with the transmitter shown), the Sacramento River (in Redding), Mt. Eddy (?), Upper Falls of the McCloud River and Shasta Lake. A fraction of a second of the SSB is seen after both the sign-off and sign-on. The Webmaster is unable to explain the differences in the hues between the two clips, for this is how the clips were received.

KRCR-TV was launched in August 1956 as KVIP-TV. It was initially a primary affiliate of the NBC-TV Network with a secondary affiliation with ABC. As the years passed, ABC's programs became more dominant on Channel 7's schedule up to 1978, when KRCR-TV became a full-time ABC station, as it is today. The Northern Sacramento Valley would not get another full-time NBC station until 1985, the year that KNVN Channel 24 first signed on. Interestingly, as an ABC station telecasting on Channel 7, KRCR-TV did not begin using ABC's familiar "Circle 7" logo until April 2006.
