KOTI is the sibling starion of Medford's KOBI Channel 5. Both were launched in the mid-1950s by William B. Smullin. The Smullin family still own and operates both stations at the present. KOTI for its first twenty-eight years (1956-1984) ran programming from all three networks. Since 1984 it has been an exclusive NBC network affiliate, as is its sister KOBI, in which KOTI serves as a satellite of.

The clip begins with a fifty-second station ID graphic still with a jet plane flying in front of Mount Shasta (in California). From there it goes directly to the sign-off announcement, which features the master control operator grabbing the tape containing the KOTI-TV sign-on and sign-off clips, inserting it into the VTR, and then shutting down the equipment and lights.

TV-Signoffs.com sende its thanks to Mike Summers of Chico, CA for contributing this clip.
