Sign-Off and ATB video recorded circa 2004
Page modified Tuesday, 16 June 2020
A beautifully-produced sign-off from the then ABC network affiliate for western Colorado. Following the lead-off station ID graphic is a video montage of varoius local happenings and views of the mountains, canyons, mesas and rivers that surround the city of Grand Junction. One unique point of the sign-off announcement is a salute to the men and women of America's armed forces and their families. The sign-off concludes with a listing of KJCT's six translator stations delivering the station's signal to central and northwestern Colorado (the current KJCT, explained below, utilizes twenty-three).
The original KJCT Channel 8 (featured here) signed on in October 1979. Since January 2015 the station is known as KGBY and is affiliated with the Court TV network. The current KJCT-LP was launched in August 2006 as KKHD-LP. It took on the KJCT calls and the ABC network affiliation in January 2015. Since the history of KJCT/KGBY is a bit too involved to explain here, we refer you to this Wikipedia article about the current KJCT-LP.
