Sign-Off recorded circa 1986
Page modified Thursday, 11 June 2020
Probably the longest TV station sign-off piece the Webmaster has ever seen, running nearly eight minutes in length! It commences with the U.S. Air Force's High Flight film, this version very unsimilar to the one KABC-TV ran in their sign-off (this one is narrated by the late actor William Conrad, star of the 1970s CBS series Cannon). From there another film featuring the song "Bluebird of Happiness", rendered by the late great American tenor Jan Peerce. And finally, the station's sign-off announcement piece, a very slick-looking piece of work chock full of airborne video of KCRA's transmitting tower (tallest structure in CA), studio control-room scenes and computer-generated KCRA-TV 3 logos.
